For the posterior teeth, zirconia or white crowns are now available and used in our office. The Kinder Krown is
anatomically correct, extremely strong and durable. These restorations take longer to place than traditional
stainless steel crowns and are technique sensitive. This treatment may not be indicated for children who have
anxiety or problems sitting still for treatment. The shape and morphology of these teeth may make them difficult
to place. The dentist may find that they need to use a stainless steel crown once the treatment has begun due
to the extent of decay or shape of the tooth. Be advised that there may be an additional out-of-pocket expense
as they may be considered cosmetic by your insurance company.
