What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign is a teeth-straightening system that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gently move your teeth into a straighter position. The aligners are smooth and adhere to your teeth, making them comfortable and nearly invisible.

Am I a candidate for Invisalign?

The team at Lifetime Dental Care, PLLC, determines if you’re a candidate for Invisalign after a comprehensive dental exam. They use Invisalign to fix many dental misalignments, including:

  • Overbite and underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Overcrowding
  • Gapped teeth
  • Open bite

The dental specialists also recommend Invisalign for patients with minor misalignments to improve the positioning of their teeth without having to wear braces.

What is the Invisalign process?

The Invisalign process starts with your initial consultation at Lifetime Dental Care, PLLC.

If the team considers you a candidate for the clear aligner teeth-straightening system, they use Invisalign 3D imaging technology to show how the aligners move your teeth from their current position into their final position.

The team uses this plan to create your custom-made set of clear aligners. You wear each set of aligners for a specific time, usually two weeks, and then switch to the next.

The team recommends you wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, taking them out to eat, brush and floss your teeth, and clean the aligners.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign offers many benefits when it comes to straightening your teeth. These benefits include:

  • Discrete teeth straightening
  • Easier to maintain oral hygiene
  • More comfortable than braces
  • No need to change your diet

With the Invisalign 3D technology, you can see your projected new smile before starting treatment.

When can I expect to see results from Invisalign?

The timing of results with Invisalign varies; however, most patients complete their treatment within 12 to 18 months. For patients with minor orthodontic issues, the team at Lifetime Dental Care, PLLC, offers Invisalign Express, which often sees results in six months.

After Invisalign, the team creates a custom-made retainer that helps keep your teeth in their new position. You need to wear your retainer full-time for at least three months and then at night.

Invisalign is a comfortable and effective alternative to braces. To see if you’re a candidate for Invisalign, call Lifetime Dental Care, PLLC, or schedule an appointment online today.
